ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Relational dialectics

Relational dialectics is like a tug-of-war. It's when two people in a relationship want different things or have different ideas or beliefs about a situation. This leads to back-and-forth between them, with each wanting their own way. It can make it hard for them to find a resolution that works for both of them, but when they do, it can be a very satisfying result.
