Relaxation oscillator

Have you ever played with a toy that makes a sound over and over again, like a ticking clock or a beeping alarm? That toy has something called a relaxation oscillator inside of it.

This burst of energy also helps the capacitor lose its energy and start over again, which makes the noise happen over and over again, like a ticking clock.

Relaxation oscillators are used in lots of things, like toys, clocks, and even some medical equipment. They help those things make noise or vibrate, and they keep going without needing extra help from anything else.
