Religion in Turkey

Religion is a belief in a higher power or god. In Turkey, religion is generally divided between Islam and other religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and others. Islam is the most commonly practiced religion in Turkey, and many important historical sites and buildings are associated with Islam.

In Turkey, the government is based on a secular or non-religious system, meaning that religion is not directly involved in politics. However, many religious traditions and customs are still observed by Turks, including wearing headscarves, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and attending mosque services.

Additionally, Turkey has a long history of religious diversity, with many different religious groups coexisting throughout the country. While Islam is the dominant religion, there are still many other religious groups that are recognized and protected by the government.

Overall, religion plays an important role in the daily lives of many Turks, but it is not directly involved in the government or politics of the country.
