Repartimiento

Repartimiento is a big word that talks about a time long ago when people who ruled over land would decide who would work to make things like clothes or food. They would pick people to do this work and then those people would have to do it a certain amount of time. This was a way of sharing the work, but it was not always fair. Some people had to work much harder than others for less reward. It was a way of keeping control over people who were not free and helping the people who were in charge get what they wanted. It happened a long time ago and we do things differently now.
