ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Retinotopy

Retinotopy is when your brain maps the eyes and the images they see. It's kind of like making a map of your eyes; your brain decides where to put different parts of the image you're seeing and also which images are important. It also helps your brain know where to look in a certain direction. To give you an example, when you look right, your brain knows to focus on what's on the right side of your vision, and when you look left, it knows to look on the left side. Retinotopy is how your brain figures out the layout and different images it needs to pay attention to.
