Ridge

Okay kiddo, today we are going to talk about something called a ridge. Have you ever gone for a walk in the hills or mountains and noticed some parts of the land are higher than others? Well, those higher parts are called ridges.

It's kind of like when you draw a picture of a hill or a mountain with a pencil. When you shade in the lines going down the hill or mountain, the parts that are higher will look darker. Those are the ridges!

But sometimes ridges can also be man-made. Have you ever seen those little bumps on the roof of a house? Those bumps are also called ridges. They help water run off the roof and prevent leaks.

So whether it's a natural or man-made, a ridge is just a higher point on a surface. Pretty cool, huh?
