ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ruin value

Imagine you have a toy that you really like, it's your favorite toy and you play with it all the time. But one day, you accidentally drop it and it breaks. Now it's not as fun to play with anymore and you might even be sad about it.

This is kind of like the idea of ruin value. Ruin value is how much something is worth or how useful it is, even if it's damaged or not working as well as it used to. For example, a car might be worth a lot of money when it's brand new, but after it's been driven for many years and has a lot of wear and tear, it's not worth as much anymore.

So, when we talk about ruin value, we're looking at how much something is worth even if it's not in perfect condition. Sometimes, even when something is damaged, it still has some value. Other times, something might not be worth anything if it's broken or doesn't work at all. The amount of ruin value something has depends on the thing itself and how damaged it is.
