ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Nazi architecture

When some people were in charge of Germany a long time ago, they wanted to make sure that buildings looked like they had a lot of power and strength. They also wanted buildings to make people feel like they were part of a big group, like everyone in the country was working towards the same goals. They made a lot of big buildings that had lots of straight lines and looked really strong. They used a style called "neoclassicism" which means that they copied the way buildings looked a long time ago, when powerful empires ruled the world. These buildings were used for important things like government offices, museums, theaters, and even sports stadiums. Some of these buildings are still around today, but many people do not like them because they remind them of the time when the people in charge did bad things.
