Sacrifice zone

Sacrifice zone is a type of area where polluting industries like factories or power plants are located. These types of industries can cause environmental damage, like air or water pollution. The reason why these zones are called 'sacrifice zones' is because by allowing these polluting industries to be placed in these areas, the people and land in that area are sacrificing their clean environment and health to allow these industries to operate.
