Sash window

Okay kiddo, so you know what a window is right? It's like a big hole in the wall that lets in sunshine and fresh air.

A sash window is a special kind of window that has two parts that move up and down past each other. Imagine you have two pieces of paper sandwiched together and you slide them up and down. That's kind of like what a sash window does.

Each part of the sash window has its own little frame and glass pane, just like a regular window. These parts are connected by these special little bars called muntins. They form a grid pattern on the window and make the window look pretty

One cool thing about sash windows is that you can open the top part of the window while leaving the bottom part closed. Or you can open the bottom part while leaving the top part closed. That way, you can let in some fresh air without worrying about bugs or things jumping in through the window.

Sash windows are pretty old-fashioned and lots of people like them because they look nice and they're kinda fancy. And that's everything you need to know about sash windows!
