Scale (social sciences)

Scale in the social sciences is something used to measure ideas or opinions. We use scales to measure how people feel about things. For example, scientists might ask people to rate how they feel about a particular topic on a scale from one to ten. This means that one means the person feels the least positive about the topic and ten means they feel the most positive about the topic. Scientists can take this information to see what people think about different ideas.
