Scapegoat

A scapegoat is someone who is made to take the blame for something they didn't do. Imagine that you are in a game and that you and your friends broke a lamp in the room. None of your friends want to take the blame, so you decide to be the scapegoat -- you decide to take the blame for breaking the lamp and apologize for it, even though you weren't the one who actually broke it. You are the scapegoat, and you are taking the blame for something that you didn't do.
