Scientometrics

Scientometrics is a field of study that looks at the way science is worked on, published and discussed. It uses statistics and other tools to measure the quantity and quality of scientific documents - such as books and research papers - and scientific communication, such as discussions and presentations. This information helps scientists and research organizations understand how to do their work better, such as by seeing which research topics get the most attention, or by helping them find the best ways to share new scientific discoveries.
