Secret ballot

A secret ballot is a way of voting that lets people vote without anyone else knowing what their choice was. It's like voting in a secret room—only you know how you chose to vote. The idea behind it is that no one will feel pressured by other people or intimidated by powerful people if they can vote without anyone knowing. It also protects the vote from being changed or stolen by dishonest people. In many countries people get a paper ballot and put it in a secret envelope so that no one can see what they wrote. They then put the envelope in a box that is counted with all the others.
