Section 8 (housing)

Section 8 is a program offered by the government that helps people with lower-incomes pay for housing. The program helps people pay their rent by giving them a voucher that the person can use to pay for the rent. The voucher is given by the government and pays the landlord a certain amount of money each month. The landlord has to accept the voucher as payment for rent. The amount of rent needs to match what is within the payment standards set by the government. The program makes sure people are not spending too much of their income on housing.
