Subsidized housing

Subsidized housing (also known as social housing) is a program that helps people with lower incomes to afford a place to live. It works like this: the government pays some of the cost of someone's rent, or the cost of buying a house, so that the person doesn't have to pay as much themselves. So, if you are eligible, you will end up paying less when you rent or buy a house, which can make it easier to afford.
