ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

SelectaVision

Selectavision was a type of technology that helped people watch movies and TV shows before things like DVDs and streaming became popular. It looked kind of like a big DVD or CD, but it had special grooves on it instead of bumps. When you put it in a special player, the player would use a laser to read the grooves and turn them into pictures and sound that you could watch and listen to on your TV. Think of it like a tiny little movie projector that you could hold in your hand! Selectavision was really cool for its time, but now it's not used as much because we have newer and better ways to watch our favorite shows and movies.
