Selective mutism

Selective Mutism is a type of anxiety disorder where a person is unable to speak in certain situations, even though they can usually speak just fine in other situations. For example, a person with Selective Mutism may be able to speak and do normal activities with their family at home, but when they're at school they might not be able to talk to their classmates or teachers. People might have Selective Mutism because they are really nervous or scared when they have to talk in certain situations. It is important to get help if you or someone you know has Selective Mutism, because getting support can help them speak in more places.
