Semeval, or the International Workshop on Semantic Evaluation, is an event that encourages researchers to come together to discuss how to make computers and machines better understand language and text. Semeval is organized by the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) each year, and it helps researchers figure out how to make computers think and talk like people do. During the event, researchers present their findings about how to use natural language processing (NLP) to better understand the meaning of words and sentences. Through these conversations, researchers develop new techniques that can help computers better understand language, and eventually lead to improved voice recognition, search engines, and more.
