Okay kiddo, so have you ever heard of the word "Sephardi" before? It's a word that describes a group of people who are Jewish. These people come from a certain part of the world called the "Iberian Peninsula," which is where Spain and Portugal are.
Centuries ago, many Jewish people lived in Spain and Portugal and they had their own culture and traditions. They spoke a special language called Ladino and they had different ways of doing things compared to other Jewish people in other parts of the world.
But then, something sad happened. The rulers of Spain and Portugal didn't like the Jewish people and they made them leave this area. So, the Sephardi people had to move to other places in the world, like Turkey, Greece, or even far away places like South America or the United States.
Even though they left their homes and had to adjust to new places, the Sephardi people kept their culture and traditions alive. They still speak Ladino and they celebrate special holidays in their own unique way.
So, even though the Sephardi people are spread out across the world, they still have a special connection to their heritage and they are proud of where they came from.
