Serial Item and Contribution Identifier

Serial item and contribution identifier (SICI) is a code used to help identify and locate articles in a library catalog. It has two parts. The first part is a serial item number which identifies an issue of a journal, periodical, or magazine, and the second part is a contribution ID which identifies a specific article inside that journal. These numbers make it easier to find specific articles because each one is unique.
