ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Settlement geography

Settlement geography is a way of studying how humans choose where to live and why. It looks at the patterns of where people live and the environmental conditions they prefer to live with. For example, people often choose to live near other people, close to resources like food and water, and in a place that has the right climate (not too hot, not too cold) for them. By studying how people choose where to live, we can learn more about how people live and why!
