ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Side road

A side road is like a little street that comes off of a bigger street. Imagine you are walking or driving on a big street that has lots of cars on it. Sometimes you might see a smaller street that goes to the left or right. That’s a side road! It’s like a mini street that you can use to get to places that aren’t on the big street.

Side roads are often used to get to houses or businesses that are located away from the main road. They can also be used to avoid traffic or go to a different area. Just like on the big street, you have to be careful when you’re on a side road. You should always look both ways before crossing it or turning onto it, and make sure that there aren't any cars coming.

So, side roads are just little streets that are connected to big streets. They can be used to get to different places and avoid traffic, but you should always be careful when using them!
