Soft biometrics

Okay kiddo, so imagine you're playing a game of guessing who someone is by looking at their picture. Maybe you notice they have really curly hair, or they're wearing glasses, or their nose is really big. These are called "soft biometrics."

Soft biometrics are like clues that can help us identify someone even if we don't have their name or other personal information. They're things about a person's appearance or behavior that are easy to notice, like their height, their weight, the color of their eyes or hair, or whether they have a beard or wear glasses. We can use these clues to create a picture of what someone might look like or to help figure out who they are if we only have a little bit of information.

Now, it's important to remember that soft biometrics aren't always accurate or foolproof. Just because someone has blue eyes or a certain hairstyle doesn't mean we can definitely identify them. But they can be helpful in certain situations, like if we're trying to find a missing person or identify a suspect in a crime. And they can also be used to personalize things like advertising or online content, based on what we know about a person's soft biometrics.
