Sogdian alphabet

Well kiddo, the Sogdian alphabet is a special way of writing that was used a looong time ago in a place called Sogdiana. Sogdiana was a region that used to be in Central Asia, which is really far away from where we live.

Now, the Sogdian alphabet was different from the way we write today. It had 30 letters instead of 26 and these letters looked really different too! They had lines and curves that were arranged in different ways to represent different sounds.

People who used the Sogdian alphabet wrote on materials like paper, leather, and wood. They wrote about all kinds of things, like stories, letters, and even business records!

Today, we don't use the Sogdian alphabet anymore because it has been replaced by other writing systems over time. But, it's still important to learn about it so we can understand how people used to communicate a long time ago!
