ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Soil conservation

Soil conservation is the practice of taking special care of the ground outside that's called "soil." Soil is like a carpet covering the ground and it's really important for helping plants grow and for keeping animals safe when they live outside. Some things that can harm soil are overusing it for growing plants, using it for building houses, and not taking care of it. Soil conservation is about stopping these bad things from happening by doing special things like planting trees and taking care of the plants that are already growing.
