Songline

Songlines are stories and songs from Indigenous Australian cultures. They are like maps that tell people their way through the land, but rather than explain the land physically, songlines explain the stories of the dreamtime and the spiritual meanings behind landmarks and places. Songlines explain how the world was created and tell stories about how the ancestors of the Indigenous Australians found their way in the world. They are passed down generation to generation and sung by Indigenous Australians to teach people where they came from and how they should live. So basically songlines are like a stories and songs that help Indigenous Australians learn how the world works and how their society should live.
