ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Space launch

A space launch is when a rocket with something inside (like a satellite, an astronaut, or supplies) is sent up into space. The rocket is very powerful and it is like a giant firework that is strapped to a powerful engine. When the rocket launches it is put into a special track that points it up into the sky.

When the engine is turned on the rocket will start to move very fast, and the hot air from the engine makes it go faster and faster until there is enough force to push it into space. In space, the rocket is able to travel to distant places (like the moon!) and do its job.
