Okay kiddo, imagine a round thing that looks like a plate, but with a hole in the middle. This is a spinning wheel. We use it to twist fibers like wool or cotton into threads or yarns that we can use to make clothes or other things.
The spinning wheel has three main parts: the big wheel that you turn with your foot, the small bobbin that holds the finished yarn, and the spindle that sticks out from the top of the wheel.
When you sit in front of the spinning wheel, you feed some undyed fiber onto the spindle and hold onto the end of it. Then you start turning the big wheel with your foot, and that makes the spindle spin too. As the spindle spins, the fiber gets twisted and turned into a thin yarn.
Every time a little bit of yarn is made, it winds onto the bobbin that's attached to the side of the wheel. When the bobbin is full, you can take it off and start a new one.
It's kinda like making a coiled snake out of Play-Doh: you twist and roll it in your hands to make it longer, thinner, and more flexible. But with a spinning wheel, you do it with fibers instead of clay! Cool, huh?
