Splashed white

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a horse with white on their legs and face? Well, sometimes horses can have a special kind of white that is called "splashed white". It's kind of like if someone took a paintbrush and splashed white paint all over the horse's body, especially their legs and belly.

This white color is caused by a special gene that turns off pigment production in certain areas of the horse's skin. It's different from other types of white on horses, like blaze or socks, because it looks like it's been "splashed" onto the horse instead of being a solid white area.

Sometimes horses with splashed white can also have blue or partially blue eyes, which is really cool! This gene doesn't harm the horse at all, it just gives them a unique and pretty coloring.
