ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Spousal privilege

Spousal privilege is when married people can choose not to answer questions in court or share any information about private conversations they had with their partner. Imagine you and your best friend have a secret code language that only you two understand. Now imagine you tell your spouse about this secret code language. If you are asked about it in court, you don't have to tell anyone what that secret code language is because it's private between you and your spouse. This is called spousal privilege. It's like having a special secret between friends that only they know about, and nobody else can make them tell.
