St David's Day Agreement

Okay kiddo, imagine you and your best friend made up after fighting. That's what the St David's Day Agreement was between the Welsh Government and the UK Government.

You see, a long time ago, Wales was its own country with a language, customs, and traditions unique to them. But then, they eventually became part of the United Kingdom.

For many years, the Welsh people felt like their language and culture weren't being respected, and they wanted more say in how their country was run. The Welsh Government and the UK Government had disagreements about this.

But on March 1st, which is St David's Day, a special day in Wales, they agreed to work together in a special document called the St David's Day Agreement. They made promises to give the Welsh people more control over their own affairs, language, and culture.

The agreement also meant that Wales would get more money to spend on things like healthcare, education, and roads. Overall, it was a peaceful way for the Welsh Government and UK Government to show that they were friends again and working together to make things better for everyone in Wales.
