State defense force

Okay, so you know how soldiers in the army help protect our country, right? Well, in some states there are other groups of people who also help protect the state. These groups are called State Defense Forces.

State Defense Forces are made up of regular people who are not part of the army, but want to help out and serve their state. They might be doctors, teachers, farmers or even students! They usually train a few times a year, so they know how to protect their communities in case of an emergency or natural disaster.

Think of it like a team of superhero volunteers who are ready to step in and help when there is trouble! And just like superheroes, they have cool names like the New York Guard, the California State Military Reserve or the Texas State Guard.

So, in summary, a State Defense Force is a group of people in a state who volunteer to help protect their community and state during emergencies or disasters.
