Statistical disclosure control (SDC) is a way to make sure personal information can't be found out when data about people is collected and shared. It helps protect people's privacy by making sure that someone can't figure out who the data is specifically about, even if they get access to it. For example, if a person's age is listed in the data, SDC might change the age to a range, like 30–35, so the person's exact age can't be figured out. That way, it's harder to figure out who the data is about.
