Statistical interference is a way of making guesses about something with numbers. It starts with collecting data about a certain topic, like how tall people are. Then, you put all of the data into a graph or chart. After that, you can use the numbers in the graph to make an estimate. For example, if it tells you that the average height of people in a certain age group is 5 feet, 8 inches, you could use this number to make an estimate that the average height of people in that same age group is probably around 5 feet, 8 inches.
