Sting operation

A sting operation is when people pretend to be someone else in order to try and catch a person breaking the law. Usually, the police will set up a "sting" and pretend to be someone selling illegal items, or someone wanting to buy stolen property. If the person who they are pretending to be agrees to do the illegal activity, the police can then arrest them for breaking the law.
