Street running

Street running is when a train moves on tracks that are on regular roads. Imagine a big train that chugs along and passes by cars and buildings on a street.

You know how the train usually has its own separate tracks away from the road? But sometimes, trains don't have their own space to move around, especially in busy cities where there might not be enough room.

So, the train companies use the same roads as cars to make it easier for the train to move. The tracks are built on the street rather than off to the side. The train will move at a slower speed on these tracks because they have to follow the same speed limit as the cars.

This might sound a little scary, but it’s safe because trains are very heavy and strong. They can’t make sudden turns or stop as quickly as cars or bikes, so they need to move at a steady pace. Even though the train is on the road, the train driver makes sure the train stays in its lane and doesn't cause any accidents.

Street running can also make it easier for the train to reach a specific destination or a specific building, and sometimes it can save time for people who want to ride the train instead of driving in traffic.
