Strut

A strut is like a strong leg that helps hold up something like a table or a building. Do you remember seeing birds with really strong legs that they use for standing and jumping? Well, struts are like that for things that humans build. They help to make sure that things don't fall over or collapse.

Think of it like this: Let's say you want to build a fort out of blocks. You might stack up a bunch of blocks into a tall tower, but it might wobble and fall over because it doesn't have a strong enough base. But if you add a few struts, or strong legs, to the bottom of your tower, it will help hold everything in place and keep it from falling over.

Just like how struts help support buildings and bridges by holding them up, struts in cars and airplanes help keep them stable and safe. So think of a strut as a strong leg that supports and holds up things - just like how your own legs hold up your body!
