Sukkot

Sukkot is a special holiday in the Jewish religion that happens in the fall. It's like a big party where people build special little houses called sukkahs outside their regular homes. These houses have roofs made out of branches, and they're decorated with colorful decorations and pretty lights.

Jewish people believe that during Sukkot they're supposed to spend as much time as possible in their sukkahs, eating meals, telling stories, and spending time with their families and friends. It's sort of like going camping in your own backyard!

Another fun thing about Sukkot is that people also wave special plants called "the four species." These include a palm branch, a willow branch, a myrtle branch, and a citrus fruit called an etrog.

The holiday lasts for seven days, and on the last day, people have a big party to say goodbye to their sukkahs until next year. It's a really happy time, and everyone is excited to celebrate and be with their loved ones.
