Swiss sovereign-money initiative, 2018

The Swiss sovereign-money initiative was a vote in 2018. It was a chance for people in Switzerland to decide if they wanted to change the way savings and borrowing were managed in the country. People who were for the initiative wanted a different system so that the government could control how money was saved and borrowed. People who were against the initiative wanted to keep the current system that allowed banks to make decisions about money. So people voted on whether or not they wanted to change the way money was managed. The people of Switzerland decided not to change the way money was managed, so the current system stayed the same.
