Money creation

Money creation is how new money is added to our economy. To create more money, a bank must make a loan to someone. When a loan is made, the bank is giving the borrower some money that didn't exist before. This is called "creating money". When the borrower makes payments back to the bank, that money can be used to make new loans, so the process can keep going.
