Symbolic boundaries

Symbolic boundaries are invisible lines that separate different areas or groups from each other. They could be the line that separates two countries, the border between two provinces, or even the line on the sidewalk between two houses. They provide a simple way to organize the world so that it's easier to understand. They help people figure out where they belong and what they should expect in different areas.
