Task analysis

Okay kiddo, do you know what a task is? It's something that you do, like brushing your teeth or making your bed. Now, a task analysis is when somebody looks really closely at how exactly you do that task. They want to know all the steps you take from beginning to end.

Let's take brushing your teeth as an example. First, you wet your toothbrush with water. Then, you put toothpaste on the toothbrush. Next, you brush your teeth using small circles, making sure to get each tooth. After that, you spit out the toothpaste and rinse your mouth with water. Finally, you rinse the toothbrush and put it away.

When somebody does a task analysis, they want to know each step in detail. They might even ask you questions like, "How much toothpaste do you use?" or "How long do you brush your teeth?" This information can help them understand the task better and maybe even find ways to make it easier or safer for you to do.

So, a task analysis is just looking really closely at how you do something, so we can understand it better and maybe improve it.
