ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Taxila

Taxila was a very old city in what people call today Pakistan. It was a place where many people went to learn about different things like math, politics, and religion. They had special people there called teachers who taught the students different things. Taxila was really important because it was a big center of learning and people would come from all over the world to study there.

Back in the day, there was no internet, so people had to go to places like this to learn things. Taxila was important because it had some of the best teachers in the world, and they knew a lot about the things that people wanted to learn. Now there are many places like this around the world, but Taxila is special because it was one of the first.

People in Taxila had a cool system where they could pay their taxes by doing work instead of using money. This was really helpful for people who didn't have money or who wanted to learn but couldn't afford it. So, Taxila was a place where people learned a lot of things and where they could pay their taxes in a different way.
