ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tempered glass

Okay kiddo, let me tell you what tempered glass is.

You know how when you break a regular glass, it shatters into many tiny and sharp pieces? That's because regular glass is not very strong and can easily break into sharp pieces that can hurt you. But tempered glass is different!

Tempered glass is special because it is made to be much stronger than regular glass. To make tempered glass, they heat regular glass really hot and then cool it down quickly. This process makes the glass much stronger and harder to break.

And even if it does break, tempered glass breaks into tiny and round pieces instead of sharp pieces, so it is much safer if you accidentally drop something on it or if it breaks for some other reason.

So, when you see glass doors, windows, or tables that are made with tempered glass, you can feel safe knowing that it's tough and won't hurt you if it accidentally breaks. Cool, huh?
