Tetrachromacy

Tetrachromacy is something very special that some people and animals can do. It means that they can see more colors than most people can see!

Do you know how we see colors? We have special cells in our eyes called cones, and they help us see all the different colors. Most people have three kinds of cones, which helps them to see many different colors.

But some people with tetrachromacy have an extra kind of cone, which means they can see even more colors than everyone else. This means they can see things that other people can't, and they can see even more shades and tones in colors that we all know.

Just like some people can hear better, some people can see better. It's really amazing that some people can see more colors than others, and it's something to be really proud of if you're one of those lucky people!
