ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Theological virtues

Theological virtues are special things that we believe in, and they help us get closer to God. There are three theological virtues: faith, hope, and love.

Faith is when we believe in God even though we can't see Him. It's like believing your parents when they say they love you, even though you can't see love. Faith helps us to know that God loves us and wants to help us.

Hope is when we believe that good things can happen even when we see bad things around us. It's like believing that summer will come even when it's still winter. Hope helps us to keep going when things are tough and to never give up.

Love is when we show kindness and care for others, just like God shows us kindness and care. It's like giving your friend a toy that you like, even if it means you won't get to play with it as much. Love helps us to be kind to others and to bring joy into their lives.

Together, faith, hope, and love help us to be good people and to be closer to God.
