Thermal storage

Thermal storage is a way to store heat energy. Imagine you have a pot of hot chocolate. You can't drink it all at once, so you put a lid on the pot to keep it warm. That lid is like thermal storage - it traps the heat inside the pot so you can enjoy it later. Thermal storage can also be used to store energy created by the sun. Solar panels collect energy from the sun and turn it into heat energy. That heat energy can be stored in special tanks called thermal storage tanks. When you need that energy, it can be released from the tank so you can use it to heat your home, or to power a solar-powered car!
