Thermoregulation

Thermoregulation is like how you control your body temperature when you feel too hot or too cold. Your body is like a smart machine that can adjust your temperature to keep you comfortable!

Your body has a special part called the hypothalamus that acts like a thermostat, just like the one in your house that controls the heater and air conditioner. Your hypothalamus measures your body’s temperature and then tells your body to do something to feel better.

When you are too hot, your body might respond by making you sweat. This sweat has water in it which cools down your body through evaporation. And when you're too cold, your body might start shivering to create heat.

Your clothes can also help with thermoregulation. In the winter, if you wear a thick sweater and a coat, they can trap heat and keep you warm. In the summer, wearing light and breezy clothes can help keep you cool.

Overall, thermoregulation is how your body tries to keep you comfortable by adjusting your body temperature. It's like having your own personal air conditioner and heater inside you!
