Tondo (historical polity)

Tondo was a very long time ago, in a place called the Philippines. They had their own rules and leaders and they called it a "polity." Tondo was one of those polities. The people who lived there had their own language, beliefs, and traditions. They made things like pottery and jewelry.

At that time, people were not used to having one big leader who controlled all the different polities. Instead, Tondo had its own leader who was called the "Lakan." The Lakan was like a king, except he only ruled over Tondo. He had other leaders who helped him make decisions and took care of the people who lived there.

Tondo was a very important place because it was a center of trade. People from other places would come to trade their goods, like gold and spices, with the people of Tondo. This made the people of Tondo very rich and powerful.

But things changed over time. The people of Tondo had conflicts with other polities and sometimes had to fight wars. Eventually, they were conquered by other groups and Tondo became a part of a big kingdom.

Today, Tondo is still a part of the Philippines, but it is no longer a powerful polity like it was in the past. Its history is very important to the people who live there, and they still remember the time when Tondo was a great and powerful place.
